Plant Working Principles

High-speed centrifuge (rotary) spray dryer for the extract of Traditional Chinese Medicine is an application of rotary spray drying technique for special materials,as is also a drying device that uses a high-speed centrifugal atomizer to disperse the feed into a mist, fully contact the hot air, and complete the instant drying to form a powdery finished product.

Among this series of spray dryers, the special spray dryer for Traditional Chinese Medicine extracts is a spray dryer specially used to solve Traditional Chinese Medicine extracts and plant extracts. It solves the following problems in the drying of Traditional Chinese Medicine extracts in the original LPG high-speed spray dryer:

1. Powder wall deposit and the powder yield rate is low.

2. Due to long residue time of powder wall deposit, the phenomenon of powder burning and degeneration appears.

3. Difficult cleaning and inconformity with the requirement of GMP.

4. Low in output: Model LPG-150 rotary spray dryer can process 50-60kg/h of raw material liquid.

The wall-cooling device is arranged along the chamber, as makes the inner wall temperature less than 80℃,therefore the product will not be burnt or deteriorated even stays on the wall. An Air Sweeping Device (AIR BROOM)is installed inside the drying tower, and the yield of powder is raised greatly. Meanwhile it will prevent the products from being mixed or wall deposit inside the drying tower.

The tower wall is equipped with a jacketed air-cooling device to ensure that the feed liquid deposited on the tower wall will not soften, melt or even carbonize due to local excessively high temperature;

The tower diameter and tower height have also been adjusted accordingly to ensure that the powder cannot reach the tower wall before getting dry, but also to ensure the residence time of the powder so as to complete low-temperature drying;

When the taper is increased, an air hammer/ pneumatic vibrator is installed on the cone, and the compressed air hammer is used to shake the cone to smoothly knock down the powder deposited on the cone;

The one-time cold air technology is used between the atomizer and the hot air distributor, that is, the top booster mechanism is adopted to prevent the material liquid from returning to the top and cool the atomizer.

Hot air distributor (that is, hot air volute and hot air distributor): through the logarithmic spiral airflow chamber, the hot air is evenly distributed in the circumferential direction; there are two guide vanes, and the wind direction and speed are adjusted by adjusting the angle of the guide vanes to realize the hot air and the atomized droplets are in optimal contact; at the same time, the hot air is evenly and spirally distributed into the drying tower, and uniformly contacted with the atomized droplets of the feed and an ideal drying effect is achieved.

Plant Features:

1. The system adopts a jacketed air-cooling system on the wall and roof of the drying chamber to prevent the material from melting and depositing on the wall.

2. The inner wall of the drying chamber adopts an air rotary purge system to make the temperature of the inner wall reach 80 ℃ to eliminate or reduce the phenomenon of wall depositing, so that when the material stays on the wall, it will not get carbonized.

3. The tower body receiving system is equipped with a product pneumatic cooling system, IE, dehumidified air-cooling technology is used to prevent the product from agglomerating, softening and absorbing moisture, as facilitates product packaging.

4. The gas entering the tower is filtered through intermediate and high-efficiency filters. Moreover, the pipeline adopts full welding and arc transition, which is convenient for cleaning, sterilization, and disassembly, fully meeting GMP requirements.

5. The one-time cold air technology is used between the atomizer and the hot air distributor, that is, the top booster mechanism is adopted to prevent the material liquid from returning to the top and cool the atomizer.

6. It meets FDA or GMP production requirements. The air cleanliness of the parts in contact with the materials is up to 100,000 grade. It is easy to clean, and multiple operating parameters are automatically controlled to ensure stable product quality.

7. The configuration of advanced industrial control system guarantees a normal operation parameters as are not influenced by the artificial and external factors. It adopts PLC control and program control system screen display.

The plant is equipped with a control system, which adopts PLC program to control the system loop; the touch screen animation displays the process flow, which is operable, and it can realize automatic fuzzy technology tracking and adjustment to the variable operation parameters; The frequency converter regulates the atomizer steadily and safely; the power regulator controls the intake air temperature with an accuracy of plus and minus 2°C, minimizing energy consumption; the inlet temperature and outlet temperature of the tower, and tower pressure can be accurately set and so on.

8. The elbow from the main drying tower to the cyclone separator is made of a one-time forming 304 stainless steel smooth pipe to prevent material accumulation, and adopts a quick-assembling clamp connection to facilitate the discharge of sewage generated during cleaning.
